Continuing his succession of singles that began this spring with a Bloody Beetroots collab in "Stompers" and the charged anthem "King Cobra," genre-bending disruptor Hyro the Hero has revisited a watershed moment in rock history with his latest entry, "Woodstock '99".
Teaming with Asking Alexandria's Ben Bruce to write and produce the track, Hyro's signature marriage of hip hop panache rock heavy dynamics come together a single that taps into the lighting in a bottle of the late 90's.
With lyrics that recall the revelry and eventual chaos that erupted during the infamous 1999 edition of Woodstock, the track celebrates the nostalgia of the era and speaks to the pivotal moment for Hyro as suggested in the opening lines,
“I was hypnotized
Watching Woodstock ’99
Wishing I could be on stage
Next to Korn, Fred Durst & Rage”
Fresh off a recent highlight set at 2000Trees, Hyro the Hero is set to make live appearances at Dynamo Metal Fest in the Netherlands and FuriosFest in France later this month.
