UPDATE: In light of the recent announcement that Jane's Addiction will be cancelling the remainder of their 2024 tour dates, frontman Perry Farrell has addressed the fallout via his social media. At the center of scrutiny for what has now become a viral clip of an onstage fight between he and guitarist Dave Navarro, Farrell apologized to the fans and his bandmates, in particular Dave Navarro, for what he called, "inexcusable behavior". Read the statement below.
“This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday’s show.
Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation.”

ORIGINAL STORY
What started out so well has come to an unceremoniously end as Jane's Addiction have decided to scrap the remaining dates of their first tour of the original band line up in 14 years. Having completed a successful European run as well as a healthy stretch of their North American dates, things started to fizzle last when Perry Farrell faced some backlash following a rough outing on the first of two nights in New York.
Apologizing to the crowd and confiding that something was wrong with his voice, Farrell would still face the ire of many fans calling for refunds. The band would cancel the following day in the interest of resetting - but things would ultimately take a turn for the worse on Friday the 13th no less in Boston.
In what has since gone viral, fans captured an onstage altercation between Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro following the end of the song, "Ocean Size". During the song, Farrell would exchange words with Navarro, eventually shoving him and throwing a punch before the band's crew and bassist Eric Avery could intervene. The ugly scene would bring the set to an abrupt end and leave fans wondering about the future of the infamous volatile group.
Now, the band have issued a statement confirming the worst case scenario - the remaining dates of the tour have officially been cancelled. The band officially released the following statement addressing the fans, “the band have made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group. As such, they will be cancelling the remainder of the tour. Refunds for the cancelled dates will be issued at your point of purchase – or if you purchase from a third-party resale site like StubHub, SeatGeek, etc, please reach out to them direct. Thank you, Jane’s Addiction.”
Additionally, the rhythm section of Jane's Addiction released a statement of their own that was shared to both Dave Navarro and Eric Avery's personal social outlets. The statement read, “Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour. Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs. We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets. We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis. Our hearts are broken.” This statement was not signed by the band entirely, but rather everyone but Perry Farrell.
