Knocked Loose, Spiritbox and Gojira Among 2025 Grammy Nominees

Trent Rezor and Atticus Ross along with Kim Gordon and Eminem all made the cut for the 67th Grammy Awards set for February of next year.

Set for February 1st, the 2025 Grammy Awards have announced their field of nominees and among the pop-heavy super stardom of Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Post Malone and Chappell Roan's that dominate the field, heavy music's emerging voices have earned some shine. 

In the Best Metal Performance category, the sensation of the summer Olympics in Gojira earned a nod for their epic rendition of “Mea Culpa (Ah! Ça ira!)”. The field also included a pair of legends with Metallica being nominated for “Screaming Suicide” and Judas Priest scoring for "Crown of Horns" from their Invincible Shield album which coincided with the band's 50th anniversary. 

Spiritbox made their second showing in the category, having previously been nominated in 2023 for their performance of "Jaded". The band have now been considered for their showing on "Cellar Door".

Capping off what has been a true MVP kind of year for Louisville standouts Knocked Loose, the band's celebrated You Won't Go Before You're Supposed to full length has notched a prestigious Grammy nod for the Poppy-assisted anthem, "Suffocate". 

Among the additional takeaways from the 67th field of nominees included Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross earning recognition for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media for the film, Challengers. Eminem flanked the likes of Future with Metro Boomin' and J. Cole with a nod for Best Rap Album for his,  The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce).

IDLES and Fontaines D.C. proved to be an important new presence in the landscape of rock, earning a spot next to Green Day, Pearl Jam and Jack White in the both the Best Rock Song and Best Rock Album categories. 

The Grammys also tipped their hat to icons like Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and the pioneering Kim Gordon who both earned a prominent position in the Best Alternative Performance and Album categories.
