Putting the greater heavy community on notice with the early preview of standout singles like the mammoth "Sepsis" and the three-minute onslaught of "Parasocial Christ," Lamb of God have now officially confirmed the March 13th arrival of their landmark tenth full length studio album, Into Oblivion.
Serving as the follow-up to the band's acclaimed 2022 full length, Omens, Lamb of God once again assert their rank with Into Oblivion -an effort that reemphasizes the band's position as heavy music trailblazers who continue to achieve the heights of success on their own terms. Enlisting the trusted oversight of longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur to produce the album, the result is a testament to the continued integrity, consistency and intensity of one of metal's most rightfully lauded contributors.
Introducing Into Oblivion, Lamb of God have issued the album's title track to officially begin their latest campaign. Pairing Randy Blythe's poignant lyrics and forceful delivery with the unmatched pummel achieved by guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler along with bassist John Campbell and drummer Art Cruz, the track is quintessential Lamb of God.
Setting a high bar for the rollout of the band's milestone tenth album, Blythe went onto explain the title and bleak societal statement at the core of the new effort. "In general, the album is about the ongoing and rapid breakdown of the social contract, particularly here in America. Things are acceptable now that would’ve horrified people just 20 years ago."
Now into their third decade as a unit, guitarist Mark Morton explained how the album is result of being able to explore new sonics on their on terms - maintaining their own stylistic signature all while continuing to grow as songwriters.
“For me, the album is about having the space to breathe creatively and not feeling like we have to keep up with any trend or expectation. It feels nice to be untethered from any agenda beyond rallying around the notion of, ‘Let's just make music that we think is cool,’ which is really where it all started.”
In support of the new album, Lamb of God will embark on one of the most anticipated tours of the year this spring. Supported by Kublai Khan TX, Fit For An Autopsy, and Sanguisugabogg, the North American trek touts an incredibly heavy roster, matching respected veterans with exciting young blood. The trek begins March 17th in National Harbor, MD and wraps April 26th in Boston, MA. In addition to the headlining trek, Lamb of God is set to make several festival appearances both domestic and international with dates at Welcome to Rockville, Sonic Temple as well as Wacken, Bloodstock, Summer Breeze and more.
