Just a year removed from the band's acclaimed LP, Lonely People With Power, Bay area aggressors Deafheaven have issued a surprise 3-song EP with, At Work in the Fields of the Bomb.
Aligning with in-demand producer Arthur Rizk, the presentation leans on compelling source material to create it's cohesive, consuming theme. Finding inspiration in Robert Del Tredici’s photo book of the same name, the examination highlights the ordinary places and people involved in the production of nuclear weapons. The EP dives into the weighty themes of catastrophe, mortality and the contrast of the mundane in building up to such destruction.
To introduce the engrossing soundtrack and overarching theme of the EP, "Hunter" showcases Deafheaven's relentless sound. The track arrives with a short film created by the band’s own George Clarke in tandem with director Nico Poalillo, Pulse Films and academy award winning cinematographer Janusz Kaminsky.
The arrival of At Work in the Fields of the Bomb lands as Deafheaven continue on the Poisonous Weapons Tour supporting Mastodon along with special guests Alcest. The run continues through the month of October leading up to Deafheaven's confirmed appearance at Sick New World in Ft. Worth, TX on October 24th. See a list of remaining dates below.
