Arguably one of the most exemplary albums from the pandemic era, Loathe's I Let It in and It Took Everything proved a pivotal moment in the UK collective's upward trajectory and a watershed moment in contemporary heavy music.
The album would amass widespread acclaim and propel the band to achieve far-reaching awareness as one of alt metal's most important, emerging voices. While subsequent touring and collaborative projects ensured the band remained in the conversation, it has since been three years since Loathe have unleashed new music.
Currently out as support on Spiritbox's Tsunami Sea tour, Loathe have already introduced their first offering of new music to audiences across the country with "Gifted Every Strength" as part of their incendiary live set. Now, the band have delivered the studio release of the towering track, marking their first official release of new material in three years.
Anchored by a dominant performance from vocalist Kadeem France and the hulking guitars of Erik Bickerstaffe, Loathe return with a showing that reaffirms their praise is more than deserved. Clocking in at six minutes plus, the track touts sharp stylistic shifts that translate as seamless - moving from shoegaze to metal with fluidity.
In short, though Loathe never went away, "Gifted Every Strength" marks the band's reintroduction in a way that cannot be ignored. The track is now available via Shaprtone Records - HERE
