SUPERHEAVEN - "STARE AT THE VOID" (Blue Grape Music)

Pennsylvania shoegaze stalwarts Superheaven prove to be in fine form heading into the final stretch before the release of their first full length studio album in a decade. Co-produced by Will Yip along with the band's own Jake Clarke and Zack Robbins, the band's self-titled effort due out via Blue Grape is as eagerly waited as it is well-executed. "Stare At the Void" proves as much, showcasing a slow burning scorcher that ride melody and weighty guitars to picturesque finish.
HOUSE OF PROTECTION - "FIRE" (Red Bull Records)

The duo of Stephen Harrison and Aric Improta continue to run a streak of impressive wins with the latest preview from their forthcoming EP, Outrun You All. The bombastic single is anchored by a steady build resulting in a big payoff with the kind of breakdown that will give you goosebumps. Known for their unrelenting stage energy and explosive live sets, few can capture that energy on record like HoP.
BLINDSIDE - "DEAD WEIGHT" (Wasa Recordings)

Flying under the radar, Swedish post-hardcore, emo-era vets Blindside delivered their first show of new material since 2019 - and it's really fucking good. Along with a big chorus and a heavy, rock-leaning groove, the track culminates in an explosive finale that suggests all that energy was building up during all those years away - and now finally had a release. Blindside offer proof - if you never follow trends, you never go out of style.
POISON THE PREACHER - "SUCKER PUNCH" (Seek and Strike)

Columbia hardcore crossover exports Poison the Preacher have announced their worldwide deal on Seek and Strike with a blistering new banger in "Sucker Punch". Recruiting fellow crossover comrade Chris Ramos of Central California clobbering crew Dead Heat, the track is a flurry of riffs, punchy percussion and middle finger hostility guaranteed to fire up the pit. Old school sensibility, contemporary execution. Poison the Preacher rip.
CALIBAN - "DEAR SUFFERING" (Century Media Records)

En route to the release of their 14th studio album, Back From Hell, German metalcore lifers Caliban have issued the fifth single from the presentation and one they assert is the heaviest showing yet. Having previously tapped members of The Browning and Mental Cruelty for added muscle, "Dear Suffering" showcases a commanding performance from Fit For An Autopsy frontman Joe Badolato on a track that goes for the jugular and never lets up.
