UNTO OTHERS - "REIGAKI" (Century Media Records)

Following the recent return with the release of "Butterfly", Gabriel Franco has again asserted he is one of the best songwriters in the game with the newest entry from Unto Others. "Reigaki" boasts big melody both from the soaring guitars and Franco's sweeping vocal showing. Leaning into a bit of NWOBHM worship, the band's appreciation for great s like Angel Witch, Saxon and even Maiden are very evident on this one.

FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE - "BLOODCLOCK" (Nuclear Blast Records)

Symphonic death metal legends Fleshgod Apocalypse have returned with a harrowing cut that kicks of their sixth full length campaign, Opera. Inspired by the real-life mountain climbing accident endured by frontman Francesco Paoli in 2021, the introductory single in "Bloodclock" combines the band's visionary brand of visceral volatility with the experience of confronting mortality - making for a complex composition of metallic mastery.

 INTHEOSIS - "MYSTERIA"

The debut track from the passion project between Norwegian Grammy-nominated Extol vocalist, Peter Espevoll, and Australian Gold producer Jon Reichardt - "Mysteria" is a competent show of power and performance. Espevoll proves to be an incredibly dynamic voice, soaring atop a durable track anchored by big guitars and emphatic percussion. Given this is only the first outing, there is plenty of reason to be excited about what's next from the tandem.

ALL THAT REMAINS - "LET YOU GO"

Last month, metalcore vets All That Remains debuted their first new showing in six years and the first release of original material since the  death of their long-time guitar player Oli Herbert with "Divine". Setting in motion a commanding return to form, the band have doubled down with a cathartic rock anthem in "Let You Go" that showcases frontman Philip Labonte relatable stanzas about moving on from a toxic situation. The no-frills, rock heavy hitter includes a wallop of a breakdown and reiterates ATR is firing on all cylinders.

VULVODYNIA (Feat. Kyle Medina of Bodysnatcher) - ADAMASTER (Unique Leader Records)

The South African deathcore unit have shared another scorcher from their forthcoming Unique Leader Records debut, Entabeni. Embracing cultural folklore and mythical beasts for inspiration, the combination of technicality and sheer terror of the track make for a submission as monstrous as the song's source material. Combined with a guest assist from Kyle Medina of deathcore heavyweights Bodysnatcher, the genre's blue chip prospects effectively go in for the kill.

GRAVEMIND - "ALOY" (Greyscale Records)

The Melbourne metalcore unit offer a strong showing from their Introsphere LP due out later this year. Framing a massive build-up punctuated by a soaring submission from vocalist Bailey Schembrithe emotive quality of the track is emphasized with a convincing performance throughout. With oversight from  Scottie Simpson (Alpha Wolf, Polaris) Jeff Dunne (Make Them Suffer, Knocked Loose), the band have aligned with the right folks to ensure their massive sound resonates with the masses.
