Mastodon have unveiled plans to release their next studio album, Marrow Deep. The album arrives August 28th via Loma Vista Recordings and marks the eagerly-awaited follow-up to the universally acclaimed 2021 full length, Hushed and Grim.

Mastodon co-produced the album worked in close collaboration with  Patrik Berger (Lana Del Rey, Charli XCX) and Kurt Ballou (High On Fire, Converge). Marrow Deep is also serves as the band's first album to feature guitarist Nick Johnston along with a big presence from keyboardist João Nogueira.

Paired with the announcement of the new album, Mastodon have shared a towering new single, featuring Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age. "Snakes for Dinner" reunites the two creative forces, tapping into the energy of the previous collaboration in "Colony of Birchmen" on 2006’s Blood Mountain.

The combination of enormous riffs and loaded melodies showcase signature Mastodon while conveying the emotional weight of the album that navigates the loss and uncertainty. The arrival of the latest single and album announcement follows the recent reveal of The Mastodon in the Room, a documentary-style film detailing the generation-long brotherhood and the tragic loss of guitarist Brent Hinds.

Speaking to the new era of the band ushered in by the latest announcement, Troy Sanders shared, “Bill, Brann, and myself are thrilled that we still have the opportunity to do this, and we've got other members who are just over the moon to be in the band with us. That's a magical feeling that makes us keep wanting to go to band practice. It’s reminiscent of the very beginning of our band, where all members are hungry, we're united, and excited to get to work. And we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to do this record.”
