Metallica made big news during the annual SXSW conference in Austin, TX. Guesting opposite Zane Lowe, Lars Ulrich confirmed that Metallica would be delivering a new, immersive concert film available exclusively for Apple Vision Pro.
The film simply titled Metallica, features footage captured from the band's sold out M72 Tour stop in Mexico City last year. Apple, working with Metallica, outfitted the stage with 14 of their immersive, state-of-the-art cameras to document the performance. The end result offers a unique vantage point that showcases full performances of some of Metallica's most enduring works including “Whiplash,” “One,” and “Enter Sandman,” all captured exclusively in Apple Immersive Video.
The cutting edge technology boasts ultra-high-resolution 180-degree video combined with Spatial Audio to give fans the ultimate viewing experience, from inside Metallica's famed Snake Pit. In addition, Metallica will be releasing an accompanying EP, Metallica Live from Mexico City, which will also land this Friday, March 14th.
Metallica, will be available to view for free for Apple Vision Pro headset users. Additionally, fans can book an Apple Vision Pro demo in Apple retail store locations worldwide starting March 14.
