California metalcore prospects Mugshot continue their streak of successes with the recent confirmation of their pending Pure Noise Records debut EP, Cold Will, set to land November 3rd.

The announcement capitalizes on the groundswell of momentum the band mounted with the release of the introductory single, “Left In the Wake” and their take on the Slipknot classic, “Get This” for second edition of the Pure Noise Records x Pabst Blue Ribbon compilation series, Dead Formats.
To officially begin the EP campaign, Mugshot have delivered another glimpse of the onslaught packaged into the five-song effort. Tackling weighty themes ranging from eroding mental health to social and political subjugation, the emerging prospects come out swinging with the single, “Life’s Debt”.
Clocking in at just under two-minutes of unfiltered fury, the track aims to dismantle the systematic constructs that keep most people under the rule of thumb. The band detailed the fuel of the explosive introduction.
“‘Life’s Debt’ is a commentary on the American economic and justice systems. The cycles of abuse, manipulation, and general lack of humanity that the puppeteers of these systems have bolstered to justify their agendas has ruined us all. Corporations view us as if we are animals – products at their disposal – resorting to making us all into convenient cogs within their machines. This song serves as a wake up call to us, the people who are coerced and forced to exist within these broken systems that continuously cater to entities that uphold gentrification, systematic racism, and nationalistic campaigns. Because if their pockets are running low, you already know ours are empty. And if they’re hungry, then we’re the ones who starve.”
Further elaborating on the EP, Mugshot detail how they have weaponized societal ills into five purely hostile tracks. “‘Cold Will’ is crafted by the pains of life: Abuse, depression, manipulation, trauma, and other existential themes that present themselves as the rudder that directionally steers this record’s ship.”
Mugshot added, “This record serves as the callout to any abusive person that has manipulatively used their power or title to take advantage of another. And to the people who we’ve lost because of these types of actions – this record is dedicated to them. When one’s voice is lost due to the distortions of life – our responsibility should be to amplify their voice and bring awareness to it.”
