Rock music provocateurs Puscifer have teamed with Sumerian Comics, along with Sumerian Records, for the release of a new original single made for the widely-acclaimed American Psycho comic book series. Available exclusively as part of the soundtrack for the series, "The Algorithm" showcases Puscifier's distinct sound, coupled with scathing commentary of a world compelled by the addictive aspect of social media.

Puscifer co-writer and guitarist Mat Mitchell explains, “Our approach to writing ‘The Algorithm’ was not to delicately peel back the layers of the onion, but instead, to take an axe to it.”

Given the visual component to the project, it makes sense that the single is paired with an equally engaging music video. Collaborating with 'American Psycho' artists Piotr Kowalski (“The Witcher,” “Bloodborne,” “Sex”) and Brad Simpson (“Kong of Skull Island,” “Stray Dogs,” “Blade Runner Origins”), the animation is brought to life by Tony Celano of Sumerian Records for a clip that frames the unhealthy lure that comes with scrolling your feed.

“Joining forces with the legendary rock band Puscifer for our soundtrack to the ‘American Psycho’ comic book series is an electrifying collaboration,” added Nathan Yocum. President of Sumerian Comics. “This original song brings an intensity and depth to the narrative, elevating the experience for fans and readers alike. We’re thrilled to amplify the story’s impact with Puscifer’s signature sound, creating a fusion of music and storytelling that will further captivate audiences.”

The acclaimed American Psycho comic series modernizes the life and exploits of Patrick Bateman, while simultaneously introducing Charlene Carruthers - the Gen Z era incarnation of Bateman whose descent into madness and violent escalation follows offers a comeplling parallel to that of Bateman. The concept written by Michael Calero (“Quested”).
