En route to the band's eighth full length studio album due out later this month, Queens of the Stone Age have announced The End is Nero late summer trek. The 24-date trek augments the band's already confirmed plays with massive festival spots at Riot Fest in Chicago, Louder Than Life in Louisville and a finale at Aftershock in Sacramento in early October.
The End Is Nero tour will also see a diverse roster of supporting performances with Phantogram and The Armed taking the first stretch and Viagra Boys and Jehnny Beth assuming the second portion of the tour following the Riot Fest play.
The news follows the band's recent triumph at Boston Calling and Sonic Temple Music & Arts Festival. Queens of the Stone Age are set to debut their latest album, In Times New Roman... on June 16th via Matador Records. Thus far the band have have shared a potent pair of singles to preview the release with the arrival of the rock forward lead “Emotion Sickness” and the sultry secondary single, "Carnavoyeur".
The day prior to the release of In Times New Roman… Queens of the Stone age will host listening parties at record stores and bars across some 23 countries in a series dubbed, The MIDNIGHT CLUB. The events start at 11pm June 15th and will feature giveaways including exclusive merch, limited edition colored vinyl, and for a lucky select few locations, signed merchandise and ticket giveaways. In addition to the band's North American trek, QOTSA will be out making the rounds for European festival season. The band was recently added to the Glastonbury line-up and will make additional appearances at Rosklide Festival in Denmark, Pinkpop Festival in the Netherlands and Mad Cool Festival in Spain among others.
