Earning acclaim as the guitarist of Pittsburgh's Grammy-nominated hardcore outliers Code Orange, Reba Meyers has since expanded her repertoire recently joining on as the touring guitarist for Marilyn Manson.
Now, the standout musician and songwriter is striking out on her own with the introduction of her solo project. Teaming with Gil Sharone on drums and Judy Meyers on violin, Meyers takes on the the entirety of the remaining instruments her debut solo single, "Certain Uncertainty".
Mixed by the venerated Josh Wilbur, the single showcases Meyers' undeniable range - combining assertive guitars with layered dynamics on an insightful, thought-provoking cut completed by Reba's soaring vocal performance and highly-personal lyrics.
The track comes paired with a new visual helmed by Greg Puciato, formerly of The Dillinger Escape Plan and the current frontman for Better Lovers.
Meyers shared some insight on the single and the important decision to determine her own destiny, “I’m finding that I have the space only now in my life to have a bird’s eye view on my adolescence, and that perspective, and current time of growth made it the perfect moment to begin to release solo material. A moment I’ve been sure would eventually come, though I never knew exactly how it would look,” says Meyers.
“With that, I get to experience the rewarding and nerve-wracking process of allowing myself the platform to be a more vulnerable person, and to explore that natural foundation proudly outside of how I’ve maybe been portrayed.”
Along with the release of the introductory single, Reba has teamed with the Pennsylvania's Braddock Youth Project. The organization supports youth in creating their own sustainable community development projects. Exclusive merch featured Reba's site will benefit the non-profit organization - HERE
