Signs of the Swarm Give Rob Zombie's "Dragula" The Deathcore Treatment

The music video includes cameos from Bam Margera, Will Ramos of Lorna Shore, Trey William of Dying Fetus and more.

Pittsburgh deathcore vets Signs of the Swarm are celebrating the one-year anniversary of the release of their acclaimed LP, To Rid Myself of Truth, with their take on a Rob Zombie classic. Submitting their brutal take on "Dragula," the standalone single along with production from Josh Schroeder, offers the band's tribute to the lasting influence of Hellbilly Deluxe while adding their own signature to a heavy rock staple.

Drummer Bobby Crow explained the inception of the project. "We've been trying to find the right song to cover and put a SOTS spin on for years. We tossed up so many ideas, from The Prodigy, to Slayer, to Static-X. We used to spin 'Hellbilly Deluxe' on repeat to keep us awake on long tour drives, and we love tracks like 'Living Dead Girl,' 'Superbeast' and 'Spookshow Baby,' but one day we just started mouthing out ideas for what a SOTS version of 'Dragula' would sound like. Immediately, we were like, 'DAMN! This is The ONE!'

Along with the drop of the single, Signs of the Swarm have recreated a madcap take on iconic music video which features a lengthy list of cameos from  by Bam Margera, Will Ramos of Lorna Shore), Trey Williams of Dying Fetus), Matt Greiner of August Burns Red, Tyler Beam of Last Ten Seconds of Life and more.

Signs of the Swarm vocalist David Simonich explained how the players all came together. "This video kind of spiraled out of control in the best way possible. We originally wanted to do a one-to-one recreation of the original video, but we couldn't find the right car. We were tossing ideas around looking at rentals, and a Polaris Slingshot came up as a polar opposite to what we were going for. Something clicked for us, and we thought that since we were trying to modernize the song, why not do the same for the video? We usually take our videos pretty seriously, so this gave us permission to let our freak flag fly. We started inviting any homies around the Eastern Pennsylvania area we'd be shooting, and it snowballed from there."

Signs of the Swarm will be touring North America this fall joining the likes of Nekrogoblikon, Aborted, Party Cannon and The Last Ten Seconds of Life for a stretch of October and November dates in support of To Rid Myself of Truth.
