The world of heavy music just got hit with an unexpected curveball.
Given the magnitude of this kind of show, it would be safe to assume some kind of tease would have been rolled out but without any real warning, two of the biggest bands in the space have just confirmed an epic, one-time only event set for August 17th at the Historic Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, CA.
System Of A Down will pair with Deftones for a staggering one-two that will top the one-off billing. As if that wasn't enough, the tandem will also be supported by sets from The Mars Volta as well as punk outliers Viagra Boys and Aussie noir pop duo VOWWS opening the festivities.
Among the consistent talking points of the event, this looks to be a one-time only gathering and a first time effort on the grounds of the iconic Bay Area destination.
All artists are encouraging fans to sign up for their mailing lists to access various pre-sales specific to the artists. General on sale is set for Friday April 12th at 10am PT.
