Trailblazer guitarist and Tetrarch mainstay Diamond Rowe was the special musical guest for this weekend's Atlanta Falcons game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. In addition to being the featured Sunday Night Football game, the massive NFL primetime stage also afforded a very special homecoming for the songwriter/musician.
Dawning a red Falcons jersey and strapped with her signature Jackson guitar, Rowe ripped through a rendition of Metallica's "Enter Sandman," showcasing a heavy music essential on one of the biggest stages in professional sports.
Taking to her socials to share the accomplishment, Rowe was enthusiastic about showcasing metal to such a. massive audience and spoke about the personal significance the moment had for her as a musician.
“WE DID IT. We brought heavy music to NFL Sunday Night Football.
What an awesome experience. I’ve dedicated my entire life to this instrument. Countless hours practicing, years of grinding, taking risks, making sacrifices, and chasing a dream that many (most I can still call by name) told us was impossible. But we continue to shatter those glass ceilings and moments like this remind me exactly why I’ve never once thought about quitting.
When the Falcons came to me and asked me to suggest some songs that would be recognizable and bring some serious energy to the stadium, there was one band that instantly came to mind… @metallica . The band that made me fall in love with heavy music and inspired me to pick up a guitar in the first place. To have the opportunity to pay homage to who I consider the greatest band of all time, in a STADIUM felt extremely fitting and was an absolute honor.
I couldn’t be more proud to represent heavy music on a stage like this, in front of 70,000 strong. If there’s one thing I’ve learned throughout this journey, it’s that you should always bet on yourself.
A HUGE thank you to the @nfl and the @atlantafalcons organization for trusting me to bring some noise to @mercedesbenzstadium . And to everyone behind the scenes who helped bring this moment to life, I appreciate you more than you know. (Thanks @joshoftetrarch for holding down the wah for me behind the goal post)
We can officially check the @nfl off the bucket list yall! Now somebody tell the boys in Metallica!”
