The experimental ethos of the band resonates strong on their latest effort. Introducing the next EP, The Callous Daoboys have unveiled arguably their most focused cut to date with the release of “Waco Jesus”. Corralling the band’s broad range that varies from metal, jazz and pop all into one, the single plays to the strengths of the collective, making the unconventional into something memorable for all the right reasons.

The band’s articulate frontman Carson Pace detailed the thematic driver of the track. “Waco Jesus is about insecurity, projecting that insecurity and not doing anything to solve it regardless of how people are telling you to NOT be insecure. It’s about being unable to take a compliment.”

Speaking to the significance of the release and how it the most indicative work from the band thus far, Pace shared the aspirations of the team. “In a way it feels like the band just started, even though we’ve been chipping away at it for the last six years. We want to be the defining band of this weirdo genre-swapping heavy music, where you can’t put it under an umbrella. I think what’s cool about it is it’s just immediately like, ‘Hey, fuck you, this is The Callous Daoboys!’”

Coupled with the pending release, The Callous Daoboys are set to join Protest The Hero and Moon Tooth on a North American run starting in October. The band will also set out for Europe to support TesseracT and Unprocessed in January 2024. A current list of dates can be found below.
