Set to complete their World is A Vampire arena tour this weekend, seminal alt rock collective Smashing Pumpkins will mark an important milestone later this month with the 30th anniversary of their landmark album, Siamese Dream.

Teaming with cultural pillar Tower Records, the band will recreate the promotional festivities of 1993 with a Tower Records pop-up at Madame Zuzu’s in Highland Park, Illinois from September 14th through the 17th. The combined tea shop and art studio founded by Billy Corgan and Chloé Mendel will transform into a Tower Records from 1993, featuring limited edition Siamese Dream merchandise marking the album’s three decade tenure.

The weekend will culminate with a pair of special in-store acoustic performance on September 17 which will feature intimate renditions from Siamese Dream – a revisiting of the same set played on the album’s release date of July 27th, 1993. That night, Smashing Pumpkins took to the Tower Records in Chicago for a midnight set that drew thousands of fans – a scene that forced the city’s police department to close down the street in response to the pandemonium.

A limited supply of tickets for both sets are currently available – HERE.The second set will be livestreamed for a global audience for free via Veeps at 9pm CT. Fans can access the streaming link – HERE

Danny Zeijdel, president of Tower Records expressed his excitement for the anniversary weekend. “The Smashing Pumpkins played an unforgettable in store performance at Tower Records, Chicago. We’re excited to celebrate Siamese Dream once again, 30 years after hosting the original album release party.”

Zeijdel added that Tower Records intends to revive the midnight in-store spectacle that became a promotional mainstay in the 90s. “In the future, we intend to provide the same platform for young, emerging artists. We will continue with this at Tower in Brooklyn and new online experiences forthcoming.”
