Texas stoner metal champions The Sword marked their triumphant return for last year's Levitation festivities in Texas - a hometown play that celebrated the band's lauded catalog and served as a sort of victory for the band that had been on hiatus for nearly three years.
Coinciding with the 15th anniversary of the release of Warp Riders, the band's celebrated third studio album, it looks as though The Sword are picking back up. While the band's Levitation performance was considered more of a one and done, it looks as though the appearance reignited the creative spark for the band.
The Sword's Kyle Shutt shared what the comeback has meant to the collective and how that resurgence has galvanized the band. “I can’t tell you what it means to see everyone’s positive reception. It feels so good to see people out there almost more enthusiastic about the band than ever – it’s something we’ll never take for granted.”
In the immediate, the band has confirmed a pair of shows set for this spring. April 10th The Sword will take on the Granada Theater in Dallas, TX. and will perform at Paper Tiger in San Antonio the very next day. Tickets for the two-night Texas run are set to go on-sale February 7th at 10am local time.
