Last month electronic music outlier Robert Alfons, known professionally as TR/ST debuted "Robrash" officially marking his next iteration via Dais Records. Working with co-producer Nightfeelings and enlisting a final mix from the legendary Nick Launay, the track underscored the stylized noir that has become the TR/ST signature.
Without any traditional rollout, TR/ST has surprised fans with the release of his self-titled EP - his first proper studio release since 2019's The Destroyer – Part Two. Touting the compelling pulse of anthems like "Run" featuring Cecile Believe, as well as the previously mentioned "Robrash", the arrival of the EP has been christened with the reveal of a tribute to the 1990 Pet Shop Boys' classic, "Being Boring".
The track serves as the second guest feature on the EP and includes a contribution from Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters. The five-track presentation is rounded out by the official release of the 2015 fan favorite, "Slug" - a track previously only available via Youtube since it's debut.
The arrival of the EP signals not only TR/ST's first campaign on a new label but also offers a preview of his next creative era - serving as confirmation that a new album is in the works. Playing his card close to his chest, Alfons was vaguely descriptive when discussing the direction of the new material. He did off that the music is in fact, “Bigger, better, beautiful, and buried in mud.”
The announcement of the new EP arrives as TR/ST has been confirmed as part of the festivities for Cruel World 2024 - performing with the likes of Interpol, Placebo, Soft Cell, Ministry, The Jesus and Mary Chain and many more. Get tickets - HERE
