Underoath, Poison the Well, Stretch Armstrong and Shai Hulud To Perform Final Furnace Fest

- By Ramon Gonzales

In what is being billed as the 'End of An Era', the last go 'round for the resurrected banner will feature special anniversary sets, reunion and retrospective sets.

After a triumphant return in 2021 following nearly two decades of remaining dormant, the resurrected Furnace Fest banner looks to be closing out their brief, albeit impactful run. Establishing their fest footprint in the early 2000s, the initial iteration of the hardcore and punk leaning event in Birmingham, AL would span from 2000 to 2003 before going on a lengthy hiatus.

The brand would make a comeback in 2021, during an unprecedented time in live music, successfully restoring the draw of the name and creating a destination for hardcore and punk in the modern era.

However, the 2024 line-up looks to be the final of their secondary phase. Being billed as the 'End of An Era', the festival is set to host what feels like a finale on October 4th through 6th in 2024 and have unveiled the first confirmed artists for the swan song.

Among the performances set for Furnace Fest 2024, post-hardcore vets Underoath will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their gold-certified 2004 album, They’re Only Chasing Safety. Shai Hulud will return with the That Within Blood Ill-Tempered- line-up for set that will revisit the band's discography. Additionally, Poison the Well and Stretch Armstrong have confirmed they will be participating in the festivities.
