Set to the band's ferocious track "Throw Yourself to the Sword" off their 2025 debut Something to Consume, the trailer tears through a barrage of gruesome imagery with an infectious, punk-fueled energy that feels worlds away from the prim etiquette of 19th-century England. The pairing continues to be a perfect match, injecting the film's elegant period setting with a snarling modern edge while introducing horror fans to one of underground music's fastest-rising bands. It's a refreshing reminder that heavy music and horror remain one of cinema's greatest combinations.
Based on Virginia Feito's novel of the same name, Victorian Psycho stars genre pioneer Maika Monroe (Longlegs, Reminders of Him) as the immaculately named Winifred Notty, an eccentric governess who arrives at the pompous and isolated Ensor House with a secret that's far more sinister than anyone could imagine. As mysterious disappearances begin piling up around the estate, Winifred's increasingly violent impulses threaten to consume everyone unfortunate enough to cross her path.
The new trailer offers a deeper look at Monroe's deliciously wicked performance, balancing dry, pitch-black humor with graphic bursts of violence. Alongside Monroe, the film features Thomasin McKenzie, Jason Isaacs, Amy De Bhrún, Hamlet breakout Jacobi Jupe, and Ruth Wilson, with Sanctuary director Zachary Wigon adapting Feito's screenplay from her own novel.
