UFC returns to the Las Vegas Apex starting August 1st with Brunson Vs Shahbazyan

The MMA authority will have fights every Saturday throughout the month of August.

Again showcasing the promotion's quick ability to pivot and adjust, the August 1st now has a new headliner. The card was initially set for a showdown with Holly Holm and Irene Aldana. Aldana however, has since tested positive for the Coronavirus and has had to postpone the bout.

Stepping in for the grand return of the UFC to Las Vegas, top 10 middleweight contenders Derek Brunson and Edmen Shahbazyan will anchor the marquee on August 1st. The card will also feature bouts between flyweight contenders Joanne Calderwood and No. 6 ranked Jennifer Maia.

The August 1st Fight Night event will begin a full month of competition as every Saturday is slated for top tier MMA from the APEX in Las Vegas. The prize is the Pay-Per-View trilogy at UFC 252 showcasing heavyweights Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic. The evening has the makings of a historic night for the sport. Watch the promo video below.
