The creative vision of Sumerian Records founder Ash Avildsen and Golden Gods producer Josh Bernstein, Hit Parader's first-ever music competition show is set to premiere on Wednesday April 20th exclusively via Youtube with the intention of revolutionizing the programming category.
While other similarly formatted shows seek to discover talent, No Cover has assembled a diverse, dynamic cast of industry professionals to find not only talent, but an original artist with the complete package to that merits a life-changing bounty of prizes. Judged by an accomplished panel that includes the likes of Alice Cooper, Lzzy Hale, Gavin Rossdale, Bishop Briggs and Tosin Abasi - each of the competing artists will be vying for a six figure recording contract with Sumerian Records, representation from United Talent Agency and Shelter Music Group, performance slots at a Danny Wimmer Presents Music Festival, a $10,000 shopping spree from Guitar Center. All this, in addition to new gear from Gibson USA, Mesa Engineering, Ernie Ball, Liquid Death and Discmakers.
"'No Cover' will be the realest, most unfiltered representation of the biz and the quest of making it as unsigned artist," said Avildsen. "No music competition show has ever done what we are about to do."
The first season of No Cover was filmed on location at two of Hollywood's most iconic destinations and home to rock music legacy and lore. Split between The storied stage of The Troubadour and the Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood, California - each of the participating artists had the chance to perform in front of a legendary panel while treading on some of rock music's most hallowed grounds.
While facing the constructive scrutiny of some of the most industry's most respected names, the competing artists are hit with the reality of the business in a very unscripted, unfiltered way. With an emphasis on originality and authenticity, No Cover prioritizes discovery, mentorship, in a series produced by music industry professionals, rather than a Hollywood studio - living up to the mantra - NO COVER, NO MERCY!
No Cover is hosted by Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens, Caity Babs of Sirius/XM, and Matt Pinfield of MTV and VH1. Season one is set to premiere on April 20th via Youtube. Watch the trailer below.
