Incorporating soccer stadium chants and EDM flair, the tandem of System of A Down's Shavo Odadjian and the legendary Cypress Hill have linked with DJ Flict to craft the new team anthem for the LAFC ahead of their upcoming MLS playoff run.
"Reppin' the City" premiered by Rolling Stone this week and sets an energetic tone as the team heads into the post-season as the number one seed in the MLS Western Conference. With both B-Real and Shavo having a vested interest in the team as day one fans, both have displayed their allegiance to the team since the 2018 inaugural season, the new track showcases the hometown heroes as they put on for not only their team, but their city.
Reiterating his respect for not only his creative counterparts but for his squad, B-Real told Rolling Stone, “It’s an easy collaboration when you got guys that you respect and you love their work. We’re coming together for a team we love and support.”
The track serves as the second B-Real / DJ Flict / LAFC joint effort, with the Cypress Hill lyricist delivering a verse on the previously released team anthem, "Do It For LA" with Kid Ink.
