Activision has officially announced November 13th as the arrival date for their latest installment in the COD-franchise, Black Ops Cold War.
The addition to the collection follows the 2019 released of what has been the most successful title in the franchise in Call of Duty Modern Warfare. proving especially ambitious, Activision is also pushing the free-to-play battle Royale Warzone all in the midst of preparing for this next release.
COD developer Treyarch and Raven Software have announced plans to continue to integrate Warzone as the conduit for the various titles in the franchise so that the games have their own lane, while Warzone allow for features like multiplayer mode and even the revival of Zombie mode.
The single player mode for Black Ops Cold War will reintroduce Alex Woods, Frank Mason and Jason Hudson, all whom were in the original Black Ops released in 2010.
The story line picks up during the conflict between the US and the Soviet Unoion and revolves around the Soviet operative "Perseus," whom is believed to have infiltrated the US Government.
The current generation version will hit shelves on November 13th with a cross-generational bundle for the PS5 and XBOX Series X, arriving during the holiday season at the end of this year.
As for the multiplayer features, Activision has confirmed that COD Black Ops Cold War will give players on different consoles the ability to play across platforms and generations. Users will also be able to carry over their unlocked content from both Warzone and Modern Warfare into Black Ops Cold War - a huge incentive for players to dig into the new title.
The complete multiplayer reveal is set for September 9th.
