Heavy music and culture pillars Metal Blade Records continue their 40th anniversary campaign with the arrival of yet another in the series of retrospective 10's playlists - a specially curated collection of songs from Metal Blade Records' artists broken down by decade.
For the latest edition of the playlist series, the label is featuring standout tracks from the MB archive that were regarded as heavy essentials from the 2010-2020 era of Metal Blade. The playlist includes bangers from Whitechapel, GWAR, Amon Amarth, The Black Dahlia Murder, Cattle Decapitation, Cannibal Corpse, Rivers of Nihil, Anaal Nathrakh, Behemoth, Revocation and so many more.
Coupled with the launch of the latest playlist, Metal Blade has also tapped a titan in the gaming industry in Blizzard Entertainment Senior Art Director Samwise Didier, to helm a new 40th anniversary merch design that features his definitive stylistic signature. Having created the key art for such massive franchises as Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo, Didier has been an instrumental figure in producing some of gaming's most successful titles and an integral artistic force for just about every title under the Blizzard banner.
The merch drop follows the previous released which featured an exclusive designed delivered by renowned metal artists Travis Smith. Paired with the 00's playlist from Metal Blade Records, Smith's body of work includes definitive album art for the likes of King Diamond, Opeth, Nevermore, Soilwork, Anathema, Devin Townsend and Bloodbath just to name a few.
