The Blake Ibanez-led unit are set to perform the Metallica takeover weekend in their home state of Texas.
Texas sledgehammer Fugitive have announced plans to release their recent single, “Blast Furnace” as the first ever 7-inch vinyl release on 20 Buck Spin. The unveiling of new music arrived last month and included the equally pummeling b-side in “Standoff” – completing a walloping one-two of new material following the initial success of band’s 2022 introduction, Maniac.
The latest pair of tracks features guitarist Blake Ibanez sliding into the role of producer, with the engineering and final mix executed by Rubio N. Drums were engineered by Drew Leclair with additional production by Slade Williams.
The release features cover art by Nicky Rat and Jack Bruce, with design/layout by Erick Cruz and Blake Ibanez – showcasing the DIY ethos of the Texas collective.
The 7-inch release on 20 Buck Spin is due out September 29th, featuring “Blast Furnace” and “Standoff”. Preorders are now available via the 20 Buck Spin website – HERE and Bandcamp – HERE. All orders made direct through the label will receive a limited edition 11×17 FUGITIVE promo poster while supplies last.
News of the release lands as Fugitive prepares to participate in the upcoming Texas takeover for Metallica’s M72 World Tour. Joining the likes of 200 Stab Wounds, Tribal Gaze, Spirtworld, and more, Fugitive will perform on the AT&T Stadium Plaza Stage for Metallica’s Arlington, TX tour stop as part of the Dallas area takeover festivities. Fugitive will also join the Hellshine Fest line-up in Tampa, Florida alongside Iron Lung, Heaven’s Gate, Genocide Pact, and more this November. A current list of dates can be found below.
