Viking metal icons Amon Amarth have set an October 2nd release date for their next full length epic, The Allfather Awakens. The album follows the universal acclaim of 2022's The Great Heathen Army, further building out the band's universe of Norse mythology and death metal mastery.

First previewing their next chapter last year with the anthemic, "We Rule the Waves" Amon Amarth set the tone with a sprawling entry that lead the raid into their next era.

Recently, Amon Amarth traversed new terrain, showcasing their first ever acoustic entry with "Upphaf," - a single that flexed the band's songwriting prowess while delivering on the lore that has defined the band.

To fully usher in the era of the Allfather, Amon Amarth have unloaded the massive opening track with "Gjallarhorn". From the ominous opening chants to the upfront aggressive guitars, to the battle cry of Johan Hegg, the track is mammoth introduction and definitive Amon Amarth.

Guitarist Olavi Mikkonen elaborated on the approach the band took for this album. "We worked on one song at a time and made each song as good as possible. Then we recorded one song at a time until each track was totally finished--drums, guitars, and vocals. Only then did we start on the next one."

Presenting the magnitude of The Allfather Awakens live, Amon Amarth will be touring throughout Europe and the United Kingdom later this year with support from Orbit Culture and Soilwork. A confirmed list of dates and cities can be found below. Tickets are available - HERE
