Metalcore stalwarts Attila have debuted a vicious new single which taps into the band's aggressive roots with the track, "New Devil". Enlisting Dickie Allen for a guest assist, the walloping single continues the band's recent charge that began last year with the drop of "Bite Your Tongue" - the pivotal track that featured clean vocals for the first time from Chris Fronzak.
Since, Attila has been on a tear, commencing a campaign that heralds the band's modern era. Subsequent singles in "Mia Goth", "FU4EVR" and the most "Timebomb" have gone on to rack up more than 10 million streams across preferred DSPs.
On the latest offering, Attila sought to reconnect with their roots - unloading an assaultive track that hits with the worst of intentions. Frontman Chris 'Fronz' Fronzak shared of the cut. "New Devil is Attila showing respect to our roots. We grew up listening to heavy music, creating heavy music, and we will continue making heavy music. Lyrically the song is paying homage to our earlier works of art with a lot of references to our older songs. We wanted to make something heavy and it turned out absolutely gross."
Coupled with the drop of "New Devil", the band have also debuted a new in-depth conversation feature with veteran journalist heavy culture commentator Ryan J. Downey entitled, Raising Hell. The interview series frames the 15 year tenure of the band, delving into their evolution, their impact and what continues to fuel the band creatively as they approach their second decade.
The first episode can be seen below.
Along with the arrival of new music and the Raising Hell series, Attila continue to put in some mileage on tour. The band are currently closing out the remaining dates of The Angels & Villains Tour opposite Born of Osiris along with special guests Traitors, Extortionist and Not Enough Space.
From there, Attila will continue on with The Road to So What trek - taking on a handful of headlining dates with Traitors, Not Enough Space and Notions. The run will close out with the band's set at So What?! Music Fest in Fort Worth, TX. A complete list of dates can be found below.
