Metalcore mainstays August Burns Red are set to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album Thrill Seeker later this month. To mark the occasion, the band has opted to go especially big with the anniversary re-release by actually re-recording the album in full.
The 20th anniversary edition of Thrill Seeker was refreshed in full with the band entrusted producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland to oversee the project. The retooled version of the album also features longtime vocalist Jake Luhrs on vocals who joined the band following the album's initial release.
"When I joined the band in early 2006, I often spoke about how I'd love to do vocals on a studio recording of Thrill Seeker," says Luhrs. "I did the majority of the touring on the album and always felt a deep connection to it. As the 20 year anniversary of the album approached, we decided to finally give Thrill Seeker a facelift. It was such a rewarding experience to dust these songs off and give them new life. This album changed the course of my life and I can't wait for fans to hear this."
The band has shared a preview of the updated version with the release of a new lyric video for the single,"Your Little Suburbia Is In Ruins."
The latest edition features important nods to the original album, including guest appearances by Adam Dutkiewicz of Killswitch Engage who first produced the initial release of Thrill Seeker. The band's original vocalist Josh McManness also guests the album, contributing on the track, "Barbarian." The anniversary edition will also feature the album's bonus track in "Pride & Humility" which was also re-recorded to commemorate the 20th anniversary.
The special release arrives via the band's own ABR Records on January 24th. The album will be available on vinyl in three different color variants and arrives with a new merch collection. Fans can order the album and shop the new capsule - HERE
