Just last week, animated metal horde Dethklok set plans for their epic return to the stage with the news of their Mutilation on a Spring Night tour. The U.S. trek set to begin in April will see Dethklok top a bill bolstered by the likes of Dragonforce and Nekrogoblikon - a union that left fans on the internet nothing less than elated.
Nestled in between dates on the Mutilation On A Spring Night Tour, Dethklok and announced plans to reunited with Babymetal to revive the magic of their 2023 co-headliner appropriately dubbed, BabyKlok. The two-night only engagement will take place at The Masonic in San Fransisco on April 24th and 25th and will include performances from the Mutilation On A Spring Night Tour supporting bands with Dragonforce appearing April 24th and Nekrogoblikon performing April 25th.
“I had no idea how much fun the BABYKLOK tour would be,” explained Dethklok architect and Metalocalypse co-creator Brendon Small. “The Babymetal girls are delightful, like three princesses from outer space, great singers, and great dancers. Their band is bonkers good. Being on tour with Babymetal was a dream come true. I fell in love with the girls, the band, and their whole crew, and they threw down every night. An amazing group – lightning in a bottle. I’m so excited to share the stage with them, catch up, and hang out. I’m so glad this came together so we can reunite with our great pals.”
The announcement follows of pivotal year for Dethklok. In 2023, the band made their silver screen return with Army of the Doomstar as well as the accompanying soundtrack. In addition, Dethklok dropped their long-awaited full length album, Dethalbum IV, arguably one of the band's most celebrated records to date with singles like “Aortic Desecration,” “SOS,” and “Gardener of Vengeance” becoming instant Dethklok essentials.
