Following the sustained acclaim of the band's runaway success with 2022's The Death of Peace of Mind followed by the exhault of last year's compilation effort with the Concrete Jungle soundtrack, Bad Omens have officially marked the start of their next chapter with the release of their first new single in 2025, "Specter".
The arrival of the single follows on lengthy tease online which included the cryptic messaging of “goodbye, friend” permeating throughout the band's coded segue. As for the track itself, "Specter" is anchored by a dazzling showing from frontman/vocalist Noah Sebastian, who continues to assert his position as one of the very best among rock music's contemporary heavy hitters.
Further asserting the band's artistic bandwidth and overall vision, the accompanying music video for "Specter" finds Sebastian assuming the directorial lead, working with Nico to create a cinematic visual that not only complements the stylishly dark ballad, but also brilliantly begins the band's next era.
The arrival of "Specter" follows Bad Omens' recent run on the domestic festival circuit. Submitting highlight sets at Summerfest, Welcome to Rockville, Rock Fest, the band is set to deliver outstanding sets at both Louder Than Life in Louisville next month and Aftershock in Sacramento later this fall.
