Last month, genre-melding collective Chelsea Wolfe debuted a powerful preview of the band's next chapter with the release of the consuming single, "Dusk". Produced by TV On The Radio's David Andrew Sitek, the track ushered in a new era of Chelsea Wolfe, marking the transition to the new label, Loma Vista Recordings.
Now, Chelsea Wolfe have confirmed the February 9th release of their seventh full length studio album, She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She. Showcasing the continued collaborative prowess of Ben Chisholm, drummer Jess Gowrie, guitarist Bryan Tulao, along with the added vision of the previously mentioned Dave Andrew Sitek, the album serves as a pivotal moment in the evolution of the project.
Wolfe explains, “It’s a record about the past self reaching out to the present self reaching out to the future self to summon change, growth, and guidance. It’s a story of freeing yourself from situations and patterns that are holding you back in order to become self-empowered. It’s an invitation to step into your authenticity.”
Introducing the album, Chelsea Wofle have dropped a second single with “Whispers in the Echo Chamber” - a gripping meld of industrial, noise and minimalist synth that converges to showcase a massive wall of sound. Combined with Wolfe's haunting harmony, the track underscores Chelsea Wolfe's rank in among the most provocative in heavy music.
Enlisting visionary director George Gallardo Kattah, the accompanying video was shot in Columbia and combines the stylistic depth of Chelsea Wolfe with the musical complexity that makes for a perfect companion.
Wolfe shares, “This video feels like a love story between myself and my sleep paralysis entity, who, for the sake of this video, represents a calm inner voice cutting through mental chatter and anxiety to help guide me towards a more authentic path. From the inward to the outward, this entity shows me the expansiveness of new possibilities, if only I’ll take the first difficult steps.”
Along with the announcement of the new album, Chelsea Wolfe has confirmed a healthy touring itinerary for 2024 with support from Divide and Dissolve. The North American trek kicks of February 27th in San Diego and stretches through March with a finale in Los Angeles on the 30th.
