- By Cori Westbrook

In a unique fusion of music and art, UK-based independent publisher Rock N' Roll Colouring has proudly announced the launch of the first official coloring book from death metal's most infamous ensemble, Cannibal Corpse. Esteemed for their explicit content and renowned as a genre-defining band, Cannibal Corpse's foray into the world of coloring books offers a new creative outlet for fans.

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the coloring book presents a collection of high-quality, square-format pages filled with iconic artwork and unmistakable imagery from Cannibal Corpse's discography. Officially licensed and endorsed by both the band and the artist Vince Locke, the publication is a treasure trove of potential for enthusiasts eager to spend hours coloring.

The images, selected and curated by artist Vince Locke himself, span from the grotesque visions of early albums like "Tomb of the Mutilated" and "Butchered at Birth" to the latest blood-curdling themes from "Chaos Horrific." Known for some of the most visceral and gruesome designs in music history, the artwork within the pages invites fans to delve into the horror fantasy art that has become synonymous with Cannibal Corpse.

Vince Locke, reflecting on the release, shared his excitement over the retrospective aspect of the project, remarking on the surprising volume of artwork that has come from his 30-year collaboration with the band. He encourages fans to experiment with various coloring mediums, from watercolor markers to crayons and colored pencils, and to personalize the images with their own creative flair—anticipating the liberal use of the color red.

Alex Webster, Cannibal Corpse's bassist, expressed delight at this novel approach for fans to engage with Vincent Locke's exceptional art, marking a new chapter for the band's legacy.

"This book is a great new way for Cannibal Corpse fans to enjoy the incredible artwork of Vincent Locke," says Webster.

The initiative by Rock N' Roll Colouring aims to pay homage to the legendary status of Cannibal Corpse and to offer an engaging experience to fans who appreciate the convergence of graphic art and groundbreaking death metal. The publisher, founded by dedicated rock and heavy metal fans, ensures that the coloring book upholds the shocking and provocative spirit Cannibal Corpse is known for.

The Cannibal Corpse coloring book joins a celebrated lineup of Rock N' Roll Colouring releases featuring heavy music icons like Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Motörhead, Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, and Megadeth.

Slated for publication on December 1, 2023, the book is available for pre-order worldwide (with the exception of Germany, where it faces a ban), exclusively through Eyesore Merch. A limited edition run includes a postcard signed by Vince Locke, providing an exclusive collectible for dedicated fans.
