Philly heavy music outliers Devil Master have announced their full length return with the confirmation their new album, Bloody Dreams. The presentation is set to arrive September 4th via Relapse Records and follows the acclaim earned on the 2022 release of Ecstasies of the Never Ending Night. 

Led by guitarist and primary songwriter Darkest Prince, Devil Master's latest epic asserts a potent combination of punk and psychedelia worked into the unit's black metal foundation - making for a collection of tracks that translate equally intense and infectious. 

The introductory single, "You Worms' Vain Delusions" speaks to the strength of the album, combining technical prowess along with the mystique that has come to define Devil Master. Sonically dominant, the single single soars with slick guitars, pummeling percussion and frosty howls. Combined with the band's retro, VHS aesthetic, the track makes for a powerful statement and an auspicious start for their latest campaign. 

Devil Master architect Darkest Prince offered some insight to his musical pedigree. “The only thing I'm inspired by is Greek and Andean folk music, as well as Cumbia. Folk is eternal. I think that resonates with people. It’s been cultivated forever. It’s archetypal, primal. It taps into something across cultures.

W. B. Yeats, the Irish poetic/occultist, is my favorite poet, and he described folk music as proud and lonely. That’s always resonated with me. OK, I still listen to a lot of G.I.S.M., Bathory, and Vlad Tepes—bands I’ve liked for a very long time—but that’s about as metal as I get. So, there’s folk music and punk in us, and there’s also a lot of psychedelic influence, too.”

Among the guest features touted on Bloody Dreams, the album includes contributions from Mirai Kawashima of Japanese extreme music legends, Sigh, former drummer Chris Ulsh of Power Trip and Ur Èmdr Œrvn of illusive black metal horde, Arkha Sva. 

Devil Master will be touring Europe in support of the Bloody Dreams for a series of supporting dates opening for SIGH. A list of dates and cities can be found below.
