Escuela Grind Debuts New Menacing New Track, "Always Watching You"

- By Ramon Gonzales

The single previews the band's upcoming slew of international tour dates.

Grind practitioners Escuela Grind have shared a pummeling preview of their forthcoming full length due via MNRK Heavy later this year. Working with the venerated Kurt Ballou at GodCity Studio to produce the track, the Massachusetts aggressors prove relentless with a walloping cut that underscores the intensity that has become their hallmark.

Working with director Zack Perez for Astral Media, the menacing single is paired with a sleek visual that further asserts the ferocity that remains at the core of all things Escuela Grind.

“Most of "Always Watching You" was written in a practice space by Jesse and Krissy, and refined during soundchecks we had over the year," explained vocalist Katerina Economou.

"I've had this desire to write a song where I could portray the obsessive-stalker-girl archetype through lyrics for a while. Although not physically threatening, it's really interesting that society is so terrified of this stereotype. In "Always Watching You", I wanted this fantastical, Nightmare on Elm Street-style imagery that was rooted in the gore and horror of death metal. Themes of parasocial relationships, anxieties from social media, and an omnipresent algorithm are strongly observed in this song and throughout the entire album."

The launch of the latest single kicks of the Grind's upcoming international touring slate. Teaming with Finnish grindcore band Rotten Sound, the band begins their European trek on May 3rd. Following their joint trek with Rotten Sound, the Grind will spend an additional seven weeks heading up their own European dates. A full list of confirmed dates and cities can be found below.
