Setting an impressive pace all while maintaining a high bar of heft, transcontinental deathcore prospects Face Yourself have quickly followed up on the release of their well-received spring EP, Martyr, which landed via Sumerian Records.
Going on to tally more than six million streams across preferred platforms with the success of singles like "Predatory," "Sideration" and "Primal" the band's volatile meld of glitchy gut-punch has positioned them as one of the genre's most unique, dominant new voices.
Set to begin their Summer of Rampage tour next month in support of Martyr the band will join VCTMS and Crystal Lake at the top with special guests Not Enough Space. Ahead of the tour, Face Yourself have doubled down with the release of a new, dominant standalone single, "Ov Agony".
Combining dramatic tempo changes, venomous vocals and relentless energy, the track sources the best fo deathcore as Face Yourself continue to elevate their stock. The band's vocalist Yasmine Liverneaux shared of the latest showing,
"We are proud to release our new single "Ov Agony" via sumerian records. This song is for anyone who has ever felt like giving up. I wrote the lyrics based on a suicide letter that I wrote for my parents when I was 15, that I ended up never giving to them. Now that I have reached a certain peace in my life, it is easier to go back to those darker places, and heal these old wounds through music. I no longer have to hold this pain inside, and now that it has been freed through the music, this pain doesn't have to be mine anymore. I hope this can resonate with anyone who has shared this feeling, and hopefully let go of their pain knowing that artistic expressions can save lives, and unite people."
