Hard rock powerhouse Five Finger Death Punch has announced the July 31st arrival of the band's tenth full length album, Legacy. First previewed with last month's launch of the anthemic "Eye of the Storm," FFDP have capitalized on the momentum of the introductory single with the reveal of the powerful follow-up single, "De Oppresso Liber."
"Every album is a snapshot of who we were at that particular moment in time, and Legacy is exactly what the title suggests," shared FFDP guitarist Zoltan Bathory. "It's a reflection on the journey, the lessons, the victories, the struggles, and everything we've experienced over the last two decades."
Bathory added how the fans played an important role in the album coming to fruition. "What makes that journey meaningful is that we didn't make it alone. We traveled this road alongside millions of fans around the world and somehow became part of each other's lives. That's an incredible thing to reflect on twenty years later."
Vocalist Ivan Moody explained how the album coincides with the 20th anniversary of the band. "...Legacy isn't about looking backward. 20 years is a milestone, not a destination. We're incredibly proud of this record because it captures everything people love about Five Finger Death Punch while also pointing toward where we're headed next."
Moody further explained how every album has been an opportunity for the band to set a new precedent. "Our philosophy has always been that this journey doesn't come with a self-imposed ceiling. Every goal we've reached simply revealed another horizon beyond it. We never believed the sky was the limit; if anything, it's where the true journey begins. Here's to our shared legacy."
Bathory offered his insight on the subtext of the latest single, "'De Oppresso Liber' is more than just a motto. It's a calling. It's a philosophy. It represents a willingness to stand between danger and those who cannot defend themselves. Throughout human history, there have always been people who were drawn to accept that responsibility. This song is our way of paying respect to that mindset."
Coinciding with the arrival of Legacy, Five Finger Death Punch will embark on their 20th anniversary tour across North America starting July 20th in Camden, NJ. The marathon 48-date stretch will feature support from Cody Jinks and Eva Under Fire - extending into the fall where the tour wraps October 23rd in Bristow, VA.
Taking a brief pause to reset, Five Finger Death Punch will then begin 2027 with an extensive EU/UK headlining tour with support from Lamb of God and Bleed From Within.
