Responsible for some of extreme music's most lauded full length releases in the modern era, masked Portuguese collective Gaerea began a streak of dominance with 2020's Limbo and never let up.
Followed swiftly with 2022's Mirage and last year's Coma, the band's meld of articulate musical intensity has achieved a high bar - positioning extreme metal as high art with precision, power and elegance. That combination is precisely what makes them such an asset and now, the band have announced they are aligning with a new creative ally.
Joining forces with heavy music authority Century Media Records, Gaerea will release their next full length presentation in 2026. The signing marks the beginning of a new era for Gaerea, one that will allow the band to reach an even broader audience and unleash their brand of brutality even further, wider.
To officially begin the band's Century Media campaign, Gaerea have issued a powerful reintroduction with the release of their newest single, "Submerged". A fluid mesh of soaring melody and crushing pummel, the track maintains the force consistent with the band's sound with added elements, reaching a new musical magnitude that is sure to resonate with both new and existing fans alike.
“We are excited to be working with GAEREA and their team,” shared Century Media Vice President of A&R, Mike Gitter. “They are a rare band that transcends convenient genres and suggests something deeper on both musical, but also spiritual levels. In many ways, their story is just beginning.”
While the band continues to prep their Century Media debut for next year, Gaerea close out their 2025 with a supporting run for Orbit Culture on the Death Above Life EU/UK tour. The trek begins this October and touches down in several key markets in the region. See a current list of dates and cities below.
