Practitioners and progressives among extreme music and outsider art, Portuguese exports Gaerea have been a disruptive force in the space for the last decade. With a succession of celebrated releases, the most recent in 2024's Coma, the enigmatic masked unit is set to showcase their prowess once again.

Loss, marks the band's first full length release on their new home in heavy music authority, Century Media. The confirmation of the latest LP from Gaerea includes a March 20th arrival date and once again finds the powerhouse teaming with longtime collaborator Miguel Teroso. Reconvening with the core collective of contributors from Coma, the quick turnaround in Loss is indicative of the band's prolific artistry and their continued commitment to pushing the culture of extreme music forward.

The band's potent combination of styles drawing on elements spanning from black metal to post metal - all executed with brave experimentation - has resulted in a body of work that has made Gaerea among extreme music's most celebrated modernists. While remaining elusive and maintaining the mystery from behind their masks, the band prioritizes the music adding to the consuming quality of their soundtrack.

“I think the way we perform, the way we play, the way we dance onstage goes hand-in-hand with the way we look,” states the frontman. “We’re showing more of ourselves, exposing ourselves. We’ve unlocked that freedom where we can do whatever we want. Why would we play into the façade of being a very aggressive band with our feet on the monitors when we can just dance?”

Offering a glimpse of the enormity of the band's next endeavor, "Hellbound" serves as a shining example of Gaerea's sonic devastation. Dazzling imagery, coupled with sonic wreckage in the form of cathartic screams, aggressive guitars and relentless percussion result in a powerful performance and an effective preview of what's to come.

Building up to the March 2026 release of Loss, Gaerea will close out their year with European trek supporting labelmates Orbit Culture. With dates stretching across UK and Europe, the band punctuates their Coma cycle and ramps up for the release of Loss. See the list of dates and cities below.
