Gaerea Share Expansive New Single, "NOMAD"

- By Ramon Gonzales -->

Along with the single, the band have shared a mini-documentary offering a rare glimpse into the core of the band with Metamorphosis - Shaping the Unknown - Part I.

Extreme music outliers Gaerea continue to mount a powerful campaign on the strength of their upcoming full length, LOSS. Regarded as one of extreme metal's most innovative, progressive forces, the combination of sonic elements from extreme music has positioned the Portuguese collective in tier all their own, as they prepare to launch what looks to be their defining moment on record.

The latest in their dominant rollout in previewing the totality of LOSS, Gaerea have shared the expansive new single, "NOMAD," an epic entry that underscores the enormity of the band's craft. Coupled with a cinematic music video directed by Tre Film, "NOMAD" asserts Gaerea's undeniable musicality combined with incredible visuals that treats heavy music like high art.

Illuminating the narrative at the core of the track, the band explained of the single,  The Nomad is the individual who goes through life at a constant moving pace just to avoid facing oneself—physically drifting, but emotionally running from guilt, self-doubt, and a fear of becoming something to despise. At its core, it’s a confession of alienation: a nomad not by choice, but by self-punishment and inner collapse.”

In addition to the reveal of singles from LOSS, Gaerea worked with director Claudio Marino to launch a revealing mini-documentary, offering a rare glimpse into the creative psyche of the band. Recently releasing the first episode of the series, Metamorphosis - Shaping The Unknown, the clip offers an unprecedented look at nucleus of the project from inception to now, pairing testimonials with masterully shot and edited footage ranging from tranquil b-roll to explosive live footage.

Loss, the new album from Gaerea arrives March 20th via Century Media. Order the album - HERE
