Jersey hardcore standouts GEL have taken to their social media to announce they will no longer be a band and have cancelled all of their upcoming tours, including highly anticipated runs supporting Spiritbox and Volbeat.
The abrupt end was explained in a lengthy post that cited former guitarist Anthony Webster as the sole reason for the band's demise. Alleging some serious improprieties, the band went on to detail the "heinous acts" they explain were ultimately what forced them to end GEL all together.
Among the allegations include misappropriating the band's money for personal use amounting to thousands of dollars stolen. The band also alleged that Webster posted nude images of the band to Reddit and would often drive erratically while on tour - putting the band in serious danger while on the road.
The news ends the upward trajectory that GEL continued to take on following the success of their 2023 introduction Only Constant. The release would earn universal acclaim and propel the band toward a deal with Blue Grape Music to release their 2024 follow-up EP, Persona.
2025 would see the band score some of their biggest tours to date.
RIP GEL. Read the band's statement below.
