Issuing one of last year's most celebrated full length efforts in heavy music with Devoured By the Mouth of Hell, UK aggressors Heriot have returned with a pulverizing new single in "Commander of Pain".
Led by the command of Debbie Gough, the single is bolstered by the production of Erik Bickerstaffe of Loathe and the final mix and master of Randy LeBoeuf whose resume includes the likes of Kublai Khan, Gideon, The Acacia Strain and more. Wielding a heavy stick, the track shifts from sludge to stealth - asserting the metallic fury of one of the UK's most rightfully buzzworthy bands.
Debbie Gough shared of the new single, "'Commander of Pain' is an ode to 90's death metal. This is a song born of the inspiration we’ve gained from playing live alongside many different genres of metal bands. We wanted to write a track paying tribute to our favourite aspects of heavy music.'"
The track arrives as the band is currently trekking across the United States for the first time ever supporting Trivium on the Ascend Above the Ashes tour along with groove metal breakouts, Jinjer. Early 2026, Heriot will join rank with SikTh for two special UK shows, celebrating the 20th anniversary of Death Of A Dead Day. Heriot continue to share selections from Devoured By the Mouth of Hell and their lauded 2022 LP, Profound Mortality.
