Iconic Band Mr. Bungle Expands 2024 World Tour with U.S. Dates

- By Cori Westbrook

The run includes a pair of festival plays with appearances at Welcome to Rockville and Milwaukee Metal Fest

The legendary Mr. Bungle is making a grand return to the U.S. stage with an extension of their 2024 world tour. For the first time since 2000, the band is set to headline in several Southeastern and Midwestern cities. This long-awaited tour includes stops in Dallas, Austin, Houston, Atlanta, Raleigh, Nashville, Indianapolis, and Minneapolis.

The U.S. leg of the tour kicks off on May 6th at the House of Blues in Dallas, TX, and wraps up on May 19th at First Avenue in Minneapolis, MN. Fans have been eagerly anticipating the chance to see Mr. Bungle live again, especially in cities where the band has not performed for over two decades.

Tickets for these newly announced dates go on sale on January 26th at 10 am local time. Otto Von Schirach, an Ipecac alum, will open for the band on all headlining dates. Tickets will be available here.

The tour begins with international dates starting February 28th in Tokyo, Japan, and includes performances across New Zealand, Australia, and Europe. Mr. Bungle's lineup for this tour will also feature appearances at several major festivals, including Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach, Sonic Temple in Columbus, Milwaukee Metal Fest, and the renowned Hellfest in Clisson, France.

This tour marks a significant milestone for Mr. Bungle, which formed in 1985 in Humboldt County, California. The band, initially composed of Trey Spruance, Mike Patton, and Trevor Dunn, later expanded to include Danny Heifetz and Bär McKinnon. They released three albums before taking a 20-year hiatus from performing under the Mr. Bungle moniker. The band's unique journey includes a surprise signing with Warner Bros. Records in 1989 and a period of avoiding critical acclaim despite their influential music.

In 2020, a revitalized Mr. Bungle emerged with original members Dunn, Patton, and Spruance, joined by Scott Ian of Anthrax and former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo. This lineup released a proper version of the band’s unreleased demo, The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny, along with a new live album, "The Night They Came Home." This tour not only celebrates their storied past but also marks a new chapter for Mr. Bungle and their devoted fan base.
