Earlier this summer, In This Moment confirmed the fall release of their eighth studio album, Godmode. Thus far, the effort has been previewed with the powerful pair of singles in “The Purge” and the title track – both of which have resonated strongly with eager fans.

For the latest reveal from the album, vocalist Maria Brink has chosen to pay homage to one of music’s most innovative, forward-thinking artists in Bjork. Taking on a cover of the 1995 classic, “Army of Me” – Brink offers a stirring testament to the Icelandic powerhouse’s lasting influence and the explained the personal impact she had on her at a very young age.

“I was a teenager when I first got into Bjork. I was mesmerized by her. She has a really inspiring energy to a lot of her stuff, an enlightening feeling. She’s just so innovative and groundbreaking and inspiring and magical,” says Brink.

In This Moment guitarist Chris Howorth added how the band settled on the iconic track and how the final result exceeded expectations. “Maria played me three different Bjork songs to see which I thought would be the best. This was the one. I didn’t know it was gonna come out as cool as it is. It’s so rockin’.”

Enlisting Kane Churko whose resume includes luminaries like Ozzy Osbourne, Papa Roach, Five Finger Death Punch, along with renowned composer, producer and musician Tyler Bates, In This Moment sourced the right personnel for this pivotal album – and even included a special guest assist from Ice Nine Kills’ Spencer Charnas – in what has the makings of a landmark release for the band.

“There’s a spontaneity in this album that you can hear. It’s a little more visceral. And that we’re not with Kevin [Churko], who has done all our albums except for our very first, fans will hear those differences too, which is really cool and exciting for us,” shared Howorth. “We absolutely cannot wait for everyone to hear what we’ve created.”

Along with the arrival of Godmoode, In This Moment are set to begin a North American tour in tandem with Ice Nine Kills this November with the Kiss of Death Tour. The month-long trek will also include a stacked up of support with Avatar and New Year’s Day joining each stop of the run. A complete list of dates and cities can be found below.
