Seminal alternative rock outfit Jane's Addiction are moving ahead with the release of more new music, despite their recent run on music headlines. Earlier this week the band dominated the news cycle with the announcement that they were cancelling the remaining dates of their US tour. The move stemmed from an onstage altercation between frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro that resulted in Farrell actually throwing hands at his guitarist in the middle of performing "Ocean Size".
While the band and the individual members have released their own personal statements regarding the unfortunate event and the eventual cancellation that would result, there is reason to be optimistic about the future of the alt rock legends.
In the same week the band scrapped their tour, Jane's Addiction has released another new single, following the band's first new reveal in more than three decades earlier this year. The second single to "Imminent Redemption", Jane's Addiction showcases their range with the enchanting, "True Love". In line with timeless tunes like the band's "Classic Girl", the newest single underscores the band's well-established melodic sensibility.
Though the arrival of the new single is certainly encouraging, the future fhe reunited line-up of Farrell, Navarro, Stephen Perkins and Eric Avery still remains to be seen.
Fingers crossed.
