Earlier this spring, groove metal heavyweights Jinjer released their first-ever live album with the successful debut of Live In Los Angeles via Napalm Records. Coupled with a slate of festival performances, the band would shortly thereafter confirm their own headlining stretch beginning this September.
Now, the band has hit fans with an unexpected wallop, dropping a surprise new single with the reveal of the soaring, "Someone's Daughter". Showcasing a standout performance from Tatiana Shmayluk, driving guitars from Roman Ibramkhalilov and the rhythmic lockstep of songwriter/bassist Eugene Abdukhanov and drummer Vladislav Ulasevich, Jinjer bounce back to reclaim their rank as one of heavy music's best.
Shmayluk shared of the empowering message of the latest single, “´Someone’s Daughter´ is an artistic attempt to cast the light on the inner world of women, who in various scenarios and circumstances, have had to choose a path that was historically made by men. In a world where women are often underestimated and overlooked, they are still powerful heroes who navigate hardship with strength and resilience, unapologetically becoming themselves and breaking barriers in the face of the challenges that face them.
'Someone’s Daughter' celebrates transition from naivety into wisdom, weakness into force, unwavering determination and fearlessness as our mothers, sisters, daughters and wives walk through adversity and fight for better change. These women are often forgotten but they have earned respect. They‘ve earned mine, that's for sure!”
The track arrives as Jinjer continue their relentless run of the road. The band are set to spend the next month dominating several European festival stages, with appearances at Brutal Assault in the Czech Republic and Summer Breeze in Germany among the lot. Next month, Jinjer return stateside to headline their North American run with support from Hanabie and Born of Osiris.
Jinjer will then rotate back to Europe as the featured guest on the Celebrating Life Through Death Farewell Tour, supporting Sepultura as they close out their four decade career. To close out the year, Jinjer then head to Latin America for a headlining run with support from Heaven Shall Burn, punctuating another monumental year for one of the hardest working bands in the game.
