Arizona death metal collective Job For A Cowboy have officially returned from their extended hiatus with the release of their first serving of new music since their hailed 2014 full length, Sun Eater. The refreshed line-up of vocalist Jonny Davy, guitarists Tony Sannicandro and Al Glassman, bassist Nick Schendzielos, and drummer Navene Koperweis crush on what proves to be a commanding return to form with “The Agony Seeping Storm”.

The four-minute journey of maniacal, mathematically maddening heft showcases the band’s technical chops while offering a glimpse of the thematic significance of their next chapter. The single officially begins the next era of Job For A Cowboy, which will include a new full length studio record set for release via Metal Blade Records in 2024.

Vocalist Jonny Davy elaborated on thematic depth of the return single.  “‘The Agony Seeping Storm’ gives a slice of our upcoming concept record. Regarding the video, the band collaborated extensively with director K. Hunter Lumar (Digital Mile), while our bassist, Nick Schendzielos, co-directed.”

Davy continued, “The concept was inspired by a close friend who embarked on a relentless quest for profound enlightenment through the incessant abuse of hallucinogenic drugs. However, as they delved deeper into their religious-like experimentation they began exhibiting symptoms of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. They came to believe that they could access an alternate, esoteric reality through hallucinogenic intoxication, where they encountered gnostic and biblical figures and imagery. These songs reflect their thoughts, ideas, and experiences.”

Job For A Cowboy is set to make their live return next month, billed as a reunion set a Blue Ridge Rock Festival at the Virginia International Raceway. More information can be found – HERE
